About the Role
Paragon is recruiting on behalf of a well-established client for an experienced Fire Door Surveyor to join their expanding Fire Protection team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable and motivated professional with experience in passive fire protection to carry out fire door surveys across a variety of sectors, including social housing, MOD, healthcare, care homes and education. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring fire doors are compliant with current legislation and industry best practice, while supporting installation teams with technical guidance and advice.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed fire door surveys across social housing, MOD, healthcare, care home and educational properties.
- Record all survey information accurately using the supplied iPad and PlanRadar software (training provided).
- Provide technical guidance and support to fire door installation teams.
- Identify defects and recommend remedial works to ensure compliance with fire safety legislation and best practice.
- Carry out minor remedial adjustments where required, including adjusting door closers, changing locks and replacing fire-rated letterboxes.
- Work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
- Cover projects throughout East Anglia, including Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Peterborough and Hertfordshire, with occasional travel outside these areas when required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and to the highest quality standards.
Candidate Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Fire Door Surveyor (preferred).
- A background in fire door installation would be highly advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of passive fire protection, fire door regulations and certification requirements.
- Basic IT skills and confidence using digital inspection software.
- Experience using fire compliance applications such as PlanRadar, Bolster, CCS Systems or Site Audit Pro (preferred, although training will be provided).
- Knowledge of FIRAS and/or BM TRADA certification schemes (preferred).
- SSSTS or SMSTS qualification (preferred).
- A positive, flexible and professional approach to work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to fire safety and continuous professional development.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- A basic toolkit, including hand tools and a battery drill/driver.
