We are the Bath Soft Cheese Co. We run a popular and growing cafe as well as making award-winning cheese with milk from our own herd of cows.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced full-time chef to join our team.
The cafe is located on our family-run farm in Kelston, between Bath and Bristol. Open seven days a week, 9 to 5.00pm except Sundays when we are open 9 till 4.30pm. We are looking for an applicant to work five days per week including one weekend day
We offer a varied menu from full english breakfasts to toasted sandwiches, fresh daily salads, cakes and delicious restaurant quality meals that showcase our award winning artisan cheeses. We also bake our bread fresh on site and host Supper Clubs once per month.
- The ideal applicant will have at least four years experience working in a commercial kitchen.
- Lead on menu development
- Capable of managing our small kitchen team (4 chefs plus KPs)
- Be able to think quickly and efficiently under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to multitask and manage workload
- A good understanding of Food hygiene, HACCP and COSHH.
This position is perfect for someone who has a passion for food, local produce and especially artisan cheese.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook food items based on the menus of restaurants.
- Train kitchen staff in preparation, cooking, and presentation of food items.
- Resolve problems in the kitchen.
- Organise the kitchen staff to prepare food for large groups of customers.
- Manage the budget of a restaurant.
- Oversee the ordering of fresh foods and ingredients needed by a restaurant.
