Role Overview
Southwark Council is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cleaning Operative to deliver high-quality cleaning services across residential apartment blocks. The role involves maintaining consistently high standards of cleanliness in both internal and external communal areas, ensuring safe, hygienic, and well-presented environments for residents and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean internal and external areas of residential apartment blocks
- Sweep and mop staircases, landings, and communal corridors
- Clean bin rooms and wash block walls
- Sort recyclable materials and household waste into the correct disposal areas
- Litter pick and sweep external hard surfaces, play areas, and garage areas
- Dust and scrub lift floors
- Maintain communal areas to a high standard of cleanliness
- Report any issues or maintenance concerns as required
Requirements
Must-Have Requirements:
- Right to work in the UK
- Health Declaration/Questionnaire
- Relationship Declaration Form
- Ability to carry out cleaning duties to a high standard
- Good attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- Previous experience in residential or communal cleaning
- Knowledge of waste segregation and recycling procedures
- Good communication skills

- Start Date: ASAP
- Contract Duration: 3+ Weeks
- Working Hours: 36 Hours Per Week
- Pay Rate: PAYE: £15.88 per hour
