Seven Resourcing are recruiting for an experienced Occupational Health Nurse Advisor (RGN) to join a well-established Occupational Health service supporting a large public sector workforce. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse with strong occupational health experience to contribute to a proactive, preventative, and employee-focused health and wellbeing service.
You will be part of a professional team delivering a comprehensive Occupational Health service to managers and employees, supporting fitness for work, health surveillance, rehabilitation, and workplace wellbeing initiatives. The role also involves collaboration with external providers including counselling, physiotherapy, and occupational health physicians to ensure a holistic approach to employee health.
This position is suited to an autonomous practitioner who is confident managing complex occupational health cases and delivering high-quality clinical advice in a fast-paced, unionised environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver occupational health services including health surveillance, health assessments, and pre-placement screening.
- Provide clear and professional advice to managers on fitness for work and workplace health risks.
- Manage casework effectively, supporting both employees and employers with practical, evidence-based guidance.
- Contribute to rehabilitation and return-to-work planning in collaboration with managers and external providers.
- Ensure accurate clinical documentation and reporting in line with professional standards and organisational policies.
- Support the development and delivery of health promotion and wellbeing initiatives across the workforce.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to the continuous development of Occupational Health services.
- Provide clinical advice and guidance to colleagues and support collaborative working across services.
- Maintain compliance with legislation, professional standards, and internal governance requirements.
- Contribute to supervision, clinical standards development, and quality assurance activities.
Applicant Requirements
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with Occupational Health qualification or significant OH experience.
- Extensive experience in Occupational Health nursing, including complex case management.
- Proven experience delivering health surveillance (including HAVS Tier 3), assessments, and pre-employment screening.
- Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, and wellbeing frameworks.
- Experience working in complex, unionised or public sector environments.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to advise senior stakeholders confidently.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in IT systems and occupational health case management tools.
