The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, practical and hardworking individual to join the installation team at John J Doyle Ltd.
The successful candidate will work alongside experienced fitters, assisting with the installation of flue and ducting systems across a range of commercial and construction projects. This role would suit someone with an interest in construction or mechanical installation who is keen to learn new skills and develop a long-term career within the industry.
Training and support will be provided, with opportunities to develop technical knowledge and progress within the installation team.
Location
Based at John J Doyle Ltd Head Office, Belfast, with travel throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, together with occasional travel to Great Britain and Europe.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the installation team with a range of duties, including:
- Assisting fitters with the installation of flue and ducting systems.
- Preparing materials, tools and equipment required for installation work.
- Loading, unloading and safely moving materials and equipment.
- Assisting with the positioning, lifting and assembly of flue, ducting and associated components.
- Preparing work areas before installation work begins.
- Supporting fitters with general site activities and installation tasks.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment at all times.
- Ensuring tools, materials and equipment are stored safely and securely.
- Assisting with site housekeeping and the removal of waste materials.
- Following instructions from Fitters, Team Leaders and Project Managers.
- Working in accordance with company procedures, site rules and health and safety requirements.
- Assisting with the identification and reporting of any site issues, hazards or concerns.
- Representing John J Doyle Ltd professionally while working on customer and project sites.
- Working effectively as part of a team and supporting colleagues where required.
- Developing knowledge and practical skills relating to flue, ducting and mechanical installation.
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to carry out work thoroughly and accurately.
- A general knowledge or understanding of the building and construction industry.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.

- Good physical fitness, including strength, coordination and balance.
- Good practical and hands-on skills.

- Good awareness of the importance of health and safety.
Experience within construction, mechanical installation, plumbing, pipefitting, fabrication, flue installation or ducting would be advantageous but is not essential.

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
