Overview
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong welding and fabrication skills, with experience in various metalworking techniques. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to the creation of high-quality metal components and structures. Candidates should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
- Perform TIG welding and other welding techniques on a variety of metals, including sheet metal and structural components
- Fabricate metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal pieces
- Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently to produce high-quality welds
- Assist in the assembly of fabricated components into finished products or structures
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring safety standards are adhered to at all times
- Conduct basic measurements and calculations using standard mathematical skills for precise fabrication
Skills
- Proficiency in welding and other welding processes relevant to welding standards
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment
- Strong understanding of sheet metal work and mechanical principles
- Ability to read technical drawings.
- Mechanical knowledge related to metalworking processes
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality control purposes
- Familiarity with assembly procedures for metal components
- Good attention to detail with a focus on safety and quality assurance
