Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Taxi Driver to join our team. You will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, ensuring punctuality, comfort, and safety at all times. Your role is vital in creating a positive experience for students while maintaining high standards of professionalism.
Duties
- Safely operate a taxi vehicle to transport students between their homes and school locations according to scheduled routes.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers during transit, adhering strictly to traffic laws and company policies.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including helping with loading or unloading luggage or mobility aids as needed.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections to verify the vehicle’s condition, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or delays that occur during service.
- Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and dispatchers regarding schedules, delays, or emergencies.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as cleaning the interior/exterior and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, preferably with school transportation experience.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations related to passenger transport.
- Basic maintenance skills for routine vehicle checks and minor repairs.
- Reliable punctuality and excellent time management skills to adhere to tight schedules.
- Surrey Heath private hire/Hackney license preferred but not necessary. We can assist with applying for a license.
Pay: £13.00-£15.00 per hour
