Aftercare & Maintenance Technician
We are looking for an experienced and practical Aftercare & Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance team
This is a hands-on, customer-facing role carrying out snagging, remedial and maintenance works within completed iHus annexes across the UK
You will be responsible for inspecting reported issues, identifying the likely cause and completing repairs to a high standard wherever possible on the first visit
- Carrying out snagging, remedial and general maintenance works in completed residential properties
- Diagnosing faults and deciding on the appropriate repair
- Completing a broad range of minor works including joinery, doors, ironmongery, kitchens, trims, sealants, flooring, decoration and general fixtures and fittings
- Identifying where specialist trades or further technical investigation are required
- Planning visits, tools and materials to maximise first-time completion
- Taking before-and-after photographs and completing clear maintenance reports
- Working professionally within customers' homes and keeping them informed throughout the visit
- Ensuring properties are left clean, safe and secure
- Travelling to customer properties throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
You will need to be a capable all-rounder with strong practical skills and the confidence to work independently
Ideally, you will have:
- At least 3 years' relevant experience within construction, property maintenance, joinery, finishing or a similar practical role
- Experience diagnosing and completing building repairs, snagging or remedial works
- Strong practical ability across joinery, finishing and general property maintenance
- A good understanding of domestic construction
- The ability to read construction drawings, specifications and manufacturer instructions
- Good customer-service and communication skills
- Strong organisation and time-management skills
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- A full UK driving licence
Experience within timber-frame, modular, residential or park-home construction would be advantageous, although not essential
A relevant trade or maintenance qualification would also be beneficial but is not essential
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and solution-focused, takes pride in their work and is comfortable taking ownership of problems through to completion
You must be comfortable working independently, dealing directly with customers and travelling throughout the UK as required
Pay: £16.50-£17.50 per hour
