Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic lead gardener to join our small team and help us maintain our customer’s high end domestic gardens with the same passion and drive that we have. As Lead Gardener, you will take responsibility for leading and supporting the gardening team, ensuring work is organised efficiently and completed to a high standard. You will be confident in allocating tasks, managing workloads and providing clear direction to team members, while assessing each client’s garden to identify what needs doing and prioritising work accordingly. You will use your experience and horticultural knowledge to spot issues, recommend appropriate improvements and ensure the team delivers a professional, reliable and consistently high-quality service to every client.
You will be driving a company van so a full UK/EEA driving licence is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform garden maintenance tasks such as mowing, trimming, and edging lawns
- Prune trees, shrubs, and hedges to maintain their shape and promote healthy growth
- Plant perennials, shrubs, trees, and other plants
- Weed garden beds to ensure an attractive appearance
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Requirements
- 5 years experience in horticulture required
- Knowledge of hand tools and power tools commonly used in gardening
- Familiarity with different types of perennials, trees, and shrubs
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods of time
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
