About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bar & Clubhouse Manager to lead the day to-day operations of our busy bar and clubhouse facility.
This is a hands-on management role where you will oversee all bar operations, lead and develop a team of staff, maintain exceptional standards of service, and drive revenue through effective stock management, events, and promotional activities.
The successful candidate will be a strong people manager with excellent organisational skills, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
As Bar & Clubhouse Manager, you will:
- Plan staffing requirements and create rotas to ensure effective operational coverage.
- Lead, motivate and manage bar staff, including performance reviews and KPI management.
- Ensure all staff operate in line with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the bar, clubhouse, toilets and changing facilities.
- Promote and enforce compliance with all fire, health, safety and hygiene regulations.
- Oversee accurate cash handling and cash-up procedures, ensuring all associated paperwork is completed correctly.
- Ensure adherence to cash management and financial control procedures. Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate the best possible terms for stock and services.
- Check deliveries, ensuring stock received is accurate and supported by correct documentation. Internal
- Manage stock rotation and storage processes to minimise waste and maximise profitability.
- Work alongside the committee to plan, organise and deliver events and promotional activities that increase footfall and revenue.
- Assist in creating engaging marketing and promotional content, including social media activity.
- Maintain regular communication with staff and committee members through meetings and ongoing engagement.
- Keep up to date with relevant licensing legislation and regulations relating to the sale and service of alcohol.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience managing a bar, clubhouse, hospitality venue, or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing rotas, staffing levels, and team performance.
- Sound understanding of stock control and supplier management.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Good financial awareness, including cash handling and reporting.
- A thorough understanding of health, safety and hygiene requirements.
- Knowledge of alcohol licensing regulations and responsible service practices.
- Experience supporting events and promotional activities.
- Social media and marketing experience would be beneficial.
