We are currently looking for a full-time Sales Assistant to join our agricultural and garden team, based in the Coed-y-Dinas Country Store, Welshpool.
Coed-y-Dinas is the flagship store of the retail group. The well-established Country Store specialises in the agricultural and smallholder, equine, hardware and DIY and the rural sector. We are committed to providing high standards of customer service, having a team with strong expertise and knowledge and to selling quality products at competitive prices.
The ideal candidate would have an agricultural background or knowledge of farming products and practices (preferable), including fencing supplies, livestock handling and feed equipment, trailers, and livestock supplements. Strong customer service skills with the ability to professionally support a wide range of customer needs.
Experience in a retail or customer facing role, ideally a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, with a proactive approach and the ability to use own initiative.
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges as part of the role.
Main Responsibilities:
· Processing cash and account transactions accurately in a busy agricultural retail environment.
· Identify customer needs and maximise sales opportunities through excellent service and knowledge of our products.
· Build strong relationships with our customers, provide accurate advice on products including the brands IAE, Nugent Trailers, Pratley, Ritchie and Rumenco.
· Support colleagues with product knowledge and assist in managing stock levels, especially during seasonal changeover and promotional campaigns.
· Drive high standards of customer service and store standards.
· Be commercially focussed to drive sales and profit.

Working Pattern:
The full-time position is for 42.5 hours per week.Pay dependent on experience.
The store is open 7 days a week, currently open 8:30- 17:30 Monday – Saturday and 10:00-16:00 Sunday. The store also opens late on a Thursday during busy seasonal periods 8:30-20:00.
