Wedding & Events Sales Coordinator
Salary: £27,500–£29,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full Time – 40 hours per week, 5 days over 7
Location: Holdsworth House Hotel, Halifax
Join One of Yorkshire's Leading Wedding Venues
Holdsworth House is an award-winning, four-star luxury hotel set within three acres of beautiful gardens on the edge of Halifax. Independently owned and renowned for exceptional hospitality, we have built a reputation as one of Yorkshire's most sought-after wedding venues, creating unforgettable celebrations alongside luxury accommodation, fine dining and exceptional guest experiences.
We're now looking for an enthusiastic, commercially minded Wedding & Events Sales Executive to join our growing team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about hospitality, thrives on building relationships and enjoys turning enquiries into confirmed bookings. You'll play a key role in helping couples bring their vision to life whilst driving wedding and event sales for one of Yorkshire's most established independent hotels.
The Role
As our Wedding & Events Sales Executive, you'll be the first point of contact for many of our prospective couples and event clients. Your role is to create excitement, build confidence and guide clients through their journey from initial enquiry through to booking.
You'll conduct inspiring venue show rounds, prepare bespoke quotations, follow up enquiries and work towards ambitious conversion and revenue targets, all whilst delivering an exceptional level of customer service.
Working closely with our experienced Weddings and Operations teams, you'll become an ambassador for Holdsworth House and develop a thorough understanding of everything our venue has to offer.
Whilst this is primarily a sales-focused role, you'll also receive training in the operational delivery of weddings and events, enabling you to support the team during busy periods and provide occasional operational cover when required.
Key Responsibilities
Wedding & Event Sales
- Respond promptly and professionally to wedding and event enquiries.
- Conduct engaging and personalised venue show rounds.
- Build strong relationships with prospective couples and clients.
- Understand each client's vision and prepare tailored quotations and proposals.
- Guide clients confidently through the booking process.
- Proactively follow up enquiries to maximise conversion opportunities.
- Upsell additional services and enhancements where appropriate.
- Work towards enquiry conversion and revenue targets.
- Maintain accurate records using hotel management and CRM systems.
- Represent Holdsworth House at wedding fairs, showcase events and networking opportunities.
Wedding Planning
- Support couples through the planning stages following confirmation.
- Prepare function sheets and event documentation.
- Liaise with operational departments to ensure seamless communication and event preparation.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience from first enquiry through to the event itself.
Operational Support
- Gain a thorough understanding of the operational delivery of weddings and events.
- Support the Operations team during weddings and major events when required.
- Provide occasional holiday cover within the Weddings team.
- Maintain the exceptionally high standards of service expected throughout Holdsworth House.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, building relationships and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in wedding sales is desirable; however, we would also love to hear from candidates with strong hospitality or hotel sales experience who are looking to develop a career in weddings.
- A passion for sales and achieving results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence presenting to clients and conducting venue show rounds.
- A naturally warm, engaging and professional manner.
- Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to manage multiple enquiries and deadlines simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to following up opportunities rather than waiting for business to come to you.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Experience using hotel booking systems, CRM software or reservation systems would be advantageous, but full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working Pattern
Hospitality isn't a Monday to Friday industry and neither are we.
This role is based on 40 hours per week, working five days over seven. Weekend working is an essential part of the role to accommodate venue show rounds, wedding fairs and client appointments, together with occasional evening work for showcases and events.
Working patterns are planned well in advance wherever possible.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary of £27,500–£29,000, depending on experience.
- Monthly tronc payments.
- Company pension.
- Free on-site parking.
- Staff discounts on food, drink and accommodation.
- Employee Assistance Programme through Hospitality Action.
- Ongoing training and development.
- Genuine opportunities to progress within an ambitious independent hospitality business.
Why Join Holdsworth House?
This is far more than an administration role.
We're looking for someone who wants to contribute ideas, build relationships, generate new business and play an active role in the continued growth of our Weddings & Events department.
You'll work alongside an experienced team, gain exposure to every aspect of luxury wedding sales and event delivery, and become part of one of Yorkshire's most respected independent hospitality businesses.
If you're passionate about hospitality, love working with people and want to help create unforgettable weddings and events, we'd love to hear from you.
