Cimpor UK Limited is establishing a brand-new manufacturing facility in Avonmouth, Bristol, and we are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our engineering team.
This is a unique opportunity to become part of the site from the very beginning, playing a key role in the installation, commissioning and ongoing maintenance of our new plant. As the site becomes fully operational, you will help ensure maximum reliability, safety and performance of our production equipment.

The Role
As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and continuous improvement activities across the site.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive electrical maintenance.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults to minimise downtime.
- Maintaining motors, MCC panels, power distribution systems and electrical control equipment.
- Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new machinery and production equipment.
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics and technical manuals.
- Supporting planned shutdowns and maintenance projects.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and electrical regulations.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the company's maintenance management system.
- Working closely with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
About You
We're looking for someone with a proactive attitude, strong fault-finding skills and experience working within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical Systems and Equipment, or an equivalent electrical maintenance qualification.
- AM2 or AM2S.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing (or equivalent Initial Verification qualification).
Essential Experience
- Electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
- Fault finding on industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with motors, MCC panels and power distribution equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures and safe isolation.
Desirable
- PLC fault finding.
- Experience commissioning new machinery.
- Heavy industrial manufacturing experience.
- Welding or mechanical maintenance experience.
- Experience using computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
