Duties
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling to meet each pet’s specific needs and owner preferences
- Assess each dog’s coat condition, skin health, and temperament to tailor grooming techniques accordingly
- Maintain a clean and sanitary grooming area by disinfecting tools and workstations regularly
- Handle dogs with care and patience, ensuring a safe and stress-free grooming experience for every pet
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming requests and provide expert advice on pet care and maintenance
- Manage heavy lifting of grooming equipment, supplies, and occasionally assisting with larger or heavier dogs
- Keep detailed records of each groomed pet’s services, preferences, and any health concerns observed during grooming
Qualifications
- Prior experience in dog grooming is essential
- Strong animal care skills with a gentle touch and patience for working with dogs of all temperaments
- Excellent customer service skills to build trust with pet owners and communicate clearly about grooming procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling large or heavy dogs or equipment safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of grooming tools, techniques, and safety protocols
