Job Overview
We are looking for a Junior Architect or recent architecture graduate to support our project and site teams. This role is suitable for someone at the beginning of their career who is looking to gain practical experience across design development, technical drawings, planning submissions and construction-stage coordination.
The successful candidate will assist with a range of live projects and work under the guidance of senior team members. The position offers exposure to both office-based architectural work and site activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing architectural drawings, layouts, models and presentation material using CAD and BIM software.
- Support the development and revision of design proposals in line with client requirements and project constraints.
- Attend site visits to take measurements, record existing conditions and monitor project progress.
- Assist with the preparation of planning applications and Building Regulations documentation.
- Coordinate drawings and technical information with engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Update drawings following design changes, site information and consultant feedback.
- Attend project meetings, take notes and follow up on agreed actions.
- Maintain organised drawing registers, project folders and supporting documentation.
- Carry out basic research on materials, products, planning requirements and construction details.
- Support the wider project team with day-to-day architectural and administrative tasks.
Skills and Requirements
- Degree or relevant qualification in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Ability to produce clear drawings, sketches and presentation documents.
- General understanding of UK planning processes, Building Regulations and construction methods.
- Good attention to detail and willingness to check work carefully.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while seeking guidance when required.
- Willingness to attend construction sites when necessary.
- An interest in sustainable construction and practical building design would be beneficial.
Previous professional experience is not essential. Applications are welcome from recent graduates, placement students and candidates looking to gain practical architectural experience within a construction-focused environment.
Pay: £25,420.00-£43,966.12 per year
