Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team.
We are looking for a chef who likes to cook with fresh ingredients and have a passion for curating dishes. We use nothing but the freshest of ingredients and create our menus per season to reflect that. The ideal candidate will demonstrate this knowledge and put it in practice.
The successful candidate will assist in food preparation, ensure high standards of food safety, and support the kitchen operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen setting.
Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs with food production and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Contribute to the efficient running of the kitchen by assisting with ingredient preparation and cooking tasks
- Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance and support in food preparation and service
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety standards
- Assist with inventory management, including stock rotation and storage organisation
- Support the team during busy service periods, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food production, cooking techniques, and food safety standards is advantageous
- Supervising experience or team management skills are a plus, demonstrating leadership potential
- Familiarity with restaurant operations, serving procedures, and culinary practices will be beneficial
- A genuine passion for cuisine, hospitality, and delivering excellent customer service is essential for success in this role
Pay: £14.00-£16.00 per hour
