We are looking for an experienced and driven Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the leadership of the business, ensuring exceptional standards throughout the venue while helping drive performance, team engagement, and guest satisfaction.
The Role
As Assistant General Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the daily operation of both the hotel and food & beverage departments. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational knowledge across accommodation, guest services, restaurant, and bar operations.
You will play a key role in ensuring seamless service throughout the guest journey — from check-in experience and room standards to food quality, service delivery, and overall guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the hotel, pub, restaurant, and bar operations
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences across both accommodation and F&B departments
- Lead and motivate front-of-house, bar, restaurant, and housekeeping teams
- Monitor hotel standards including cleanliness, room presentation, maintenance reporting, and guest feedback
- Assist with reservations oversight, occupancy performance, and guest communications
- Drive high service standards and a positive guest culture throughout the business
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and staff development
- Manage staffing levels, rotas, and labour controls effectively
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and cost management
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, licensing, and company procedures
What We’re Looking For
- Previous management experience within hotels, pubs, restaurants, or hospitality venues
- Strong understanding of both accommodation and food & beverage operations
- Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences
- Confident leadership and people management skills
- Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
- Commercial awareness with understanding of hospitality KPIs
- Experience with hotel booking systems or PMS platforms is advantageous
- Personal licence holder preferred, but not essential
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
- Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally and efficiently
- Support commercial performance through upselling, local reputation management, and operational excellence
Pay: £31,000.00-£33,000.00 per year
