About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Motor Vehicle Technician to join our busy and established independent garage in Wolverhampton.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years’ experience working as a motor vehicle technician and be confident carrying out mechanical repairs, servicing, diagnostics and complex fault finding across a wide range of vehicles.
We work on all makes and models, so a broad knowledge of modern vehicles is essential. Strong diagnostic and electrical fault-finding skills are particularly important.
Key Responsibilities
● Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs
● Diagnose and repair vehicle faults accurately and efficiently
● Carry out electrical and diagnostic fault finding
● Use diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve complex faults
● Complete timing belts/chains, clutches, brakes, suspension and other major repairs
● Carry out engine and drivetrain repairs
● Inspect vehicles and identify additional work required
● Maintain a high standard of workmanship
● Work efficiently while maintaining safety and quality standards
● Keep the workshop and working area clean and organised
Requirements
● Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician
● Strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience
● Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills
● Experience working on a wide range of makes and models
● Ability to work independently and take responsibility for jobs
● High attention to detail
● Reliable, punctual and professional
● Full UK driving licence preferred
MOT Tester qualification is not essential.
What We Offer
● £35,000 – £40,000 salary, depending on experience and ability
● Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm
