Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Day Nursery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our childcare facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, while leading a team of childcare professionals. This role requires strong management and leadership skills, along with a passion for early childhood education and working with children. The ideal applicant will possess relevant nursery experience and excellent communication skills to foster positive relationships with staff, parents, and children alike.
Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Develop, implement and review policies and procedures
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of childcare practitioners to deliver high-quality care and education
- Maintain accurate records, reports and documentation
- Communicate professionally with Early Years
- Develop and implement engaging programmes that promote children's development across all areas of learning
- Oversee staff recruitment, training, appraisals, and professional development initiatives
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns professionally
- Ensure health and safety policies are strictly adhered to within the nursery environment
- Prepare for inspections and ensure the setting meets quality standards
- Promote inclusion, equality and diversity throughout
- Organise rota schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels at all times
- Monitor the nursery's budget and resources to optimise operational efficiency
- Foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere that encourages children's curiosity and confidence
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 years proven management experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide a team
- Extensive knowledge of childcare practices, child development, and early childhood education principles
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Experience working directly with children in a childcare environment
- Valid childcare or early years qualifications recognised within the UK (Level 3 Childcare Qualification)
- Driving licence is desirable for travelling between nursery locations or community engagements

Pay: £31,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
