Job Overview
As we prepare for the next stage of Taste Perthshire's development, we are looking for a Front of House Restaurant Assistant to join and strengthen our restaurant team on a permanent basis.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, delivering friendly and attentive service, and being part of a supportive hospitality team. You will play an important role in ensuring our guests enjoy a relaxed and positive dining experience, from arrival through to departure.
The restaurant operates 7 days a week (8am–8pm), and this role will involve a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming guests and providing friendly, attentive table service
- Taking food and drink orders and confidently explaining menu items
- Ensuring customer expectations are met and exceeded
- Working collaboratively with the front of house and kitchen teams to ensure smooth service
- Handling customer enquiries and feedback in a professional and courteous manner
- Maintaining cleanliness, organisation and presentation in front of house areas
- Preparing and serving teas, coffees and other hot drinks (barista experience is beneficial but not essential)
- Adhering to food safety, service standards and company procedures
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Is friendly, approachable and professional
- Enjoys working with people and delivering excellent customer service
- Is confident communicating with customers and colleagues
- Is reliable, organised and has a positive attitude
- Works well as part of a team in a busy hospitality environment
- Is willing to learn and take direction
- Has previous front of house or hospitality experience (preferred but not essential)
- Has barista or coffee machine experience (preferred but not essential)
