Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional 3.5t Van Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely to various locations, ensuring excellent customer service. Duties
- Safely operate a 3.5-tonne van to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres across designated routes
- Load and unload items, including heavy or bulky products, with proper handling techniques
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on time, maintaining high standards of customer service
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, including inspecting tyres, lights, and load security before each shift
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and update logs as required
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any issues encountered during routes
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with warehouse duties when necessary, including organising stock and preparing goods for dispatch
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a commercial or logistics environment
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in commercial driving, demonstrating safe driving practices over extended periods
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and goods handling procedures
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when loading or unloading items
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
- Organised with strong time-management skills to meet tight schedules
- Physically fit to handle manual tasks such as lifting and standing for prolonged periods
