As part of a small central people team you will bring your experience to bear to deliver an improved employee lifecycle experience. As a payroll professional you won’t just process payroll, but understand the mechanics, the consequences of changes and ensure legal/HR compliance. You’ll take pride in delivering timely, accurate and auditable payroll outputs, and support the wider HR team in serving the businesses. You’ll strive to improve processes while developing payroll understanding in the HR and Finance teams.
- HR & Payroll system - Configure and maintain payroll elements, work patterns, overtime rules, contributions, deductions, etc. Ensure data, enrolments, starters, leavers and adjustments are effectively captured, verify inputs align with policy and statutory requirements to achieve 100% accuracy, mitigating the risk of over / under payments.
- Process management – Facilitate the implementation and exploitation of Oracle Fusion Payroll & HR and develop supporting procedures and controls to improve efficiency, building awareness and understanding in the HR and Finance teams.
- Reporting & Governance - Analyse data to identify trends, provide management information and build custom reports as required. Support audits and ensure effective data security.
- HR Helpdesk – Resolving manager / employee matters and acting as the primary escalation point for pay, pensions, leave, benefits, changes, etc.
- On/off boarding - Support recruitment, the transition from candidate to colleague, and the exit process for leavers, always ensuring a positive employee experience.
Skills and experience required:
- Technically proficient - A solid background in managing payroll, input and exploiting systems (Oracle Fusion experience a significant advantage).
- High standards - A strong work ethic, ‘can-do’ attitude and the personal organisational skills to handle multiple deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Logical mindset – You are a logical thinker who can map a process as easily as you can build a spreadsheet and are always looking for a better way to do things.
- Communication & Discretion - You handle data with total confidentiality and communicate professionally, building trust with managers and employees.
- IT Skills: You are a proficient user of Excel and the wider Microsoft 365 suite.
- Ideally full membership CIPP.
