Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in English, and have a genuine passion for helping others. This role involves assisting with daily living activities and ensuring that care plans are followed to meet the individual needs of each resident.
Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as necessary, promoting nutritional well-being.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and contribute to the development of care plans.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
- Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to enhance their quality of life.
- Drive residents to appointments or outings as required, ensuring their comfort and safety during transport.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to understand and implement care plans effectively.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting residents.
- Basic IT skills for documentation purposes are desirable.
- A caring and patient attitude towards individuals requiring assistance.
- Willingness to undergo any necessary training or certification relevant to the role.
