Training starting rate is £12.96 per hour with a potential average earning of £14.07 per hour when fully trained. This role is mainly outside under a shelter and will be required to work in all weather conditions. After approx. 6 week training, this role will be piece work and paid per pallet. The potential earnings will be in your own hands and could be even higher than advertised. You will be paid weekly, every Wednesday.
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Pallet Repairer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing, refurbishing, and maintaining pallets to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. This role requires a practical approach and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to develop specialised skills in pallet fabrication and repair, contributing to the overall efficiency of our logistics operations.
Duties
- Inspect damaged or worn pallets to assess repair needs
- Use hand tools and power tools to dismantle, repair, or reinforce pallets
- Replace broken or missing components such as nails, boards, or stringers
- Operate machinery for cutting, shaping, or assembling pallet components
- Conduct quality checks on repaired pallets to ensure durability and safety standards are met
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace to promote safety and efficiency
- Assist with heavy lifting of pallets and materials throughout the warehouse
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times during repair activities
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for specific tasks
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, fabrication, or assembly is highly beneficial
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Practical experience in pallet assembly or repair is an asset but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
