Overview
We are seeking a highly organised Yard / Stock Control Operative to join our logistics team. This role is vital in managing stock levels, overseeing and preparing materials ensuring efficient yard operations. Load and unload vehicles. Occasional deliveries. This position offers the right candidate opportunity to develop to assist in an operational management of the business. Working hours are 8.00am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
Duties
- Monitor and control stock levels
- Receiving Materials ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing of goods.
- Conduct stock audits
- Oversee materials handling operations, including heavy lifting and forklift operation, adhering to safety standards.
- Implement process improvements to optimise stock control procedures and minimise waste or delays.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Experience
- Experience operating forklifts and handling heavy materials safely is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring organisation under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills for negotiation and collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- A strong work ethic and ability to self manage.
- Comfortable in the use of computers
Pay: £28,500.00 per year
