Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the coffee shop during shifts. Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided to develop your skills further.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Handle customer orders efficiently while providing friendly and attentive service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
- Operate cash registers accurately, processing payments swiftly and correctly.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure the shop remains fully stocked throughout shifts.
- Uphold health and safety standards at all times, including proper handling of food and beverages.
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to minimise wait times for customers.
Experience
- Previous barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for those new to the role.
- Knowledge of food safety procedures is preferred to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment is beneficial.
- Basic food preparation skills are desirable to assist with snack or light meal assembly.
- Proficiency in basic maths for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
