Job description
As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play an important part in supporting the 24/7 operation within an FMCG Manufacturing site in Coalville. The role requires you to complete daily machine checks and also includes a considerable amount of technical cleaning.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 year experience within a similar role and environment
Competent in the use of a range of powered and hand tools
Be aware of the main requirements of Health and Safety
Working Monday to Friday and weekends on a Rota system
The role involves the following:
- Support the Engineering Team on the technical cleaning of machines and automated areas to help maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with corrective and preventive maintenance duties
- Assist with daily plant and equipment inspections.
- Escalation of repeated issues to Engineers
- Use computerised systems to complete maintenance logs, therefore basic computer literacy is essential.
- Work safely at all times and highlight all Health & Safety issues to your Line Management.
- Carry out general site maintenance as required
With the following qualifications and experience:
- Some engineering background is desirable but not essential.
- Have an eye for detail, good problem solving ability and a practical approach.
- Good communication is essential as you will be required to communicate all issues clearly and escalate in a timely manner.
- Flexibility in working pattern as and when required by business needs.
- Be self-motivated and able to work individually or as part of a team.
- Be able to work in a fast paced environment.

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
