Do you have what it takes to be a professional St Andrews Tour Guide?
Established in 2014 as one of Scotland’s top walking tour operators, we are looking to extend our professional team of enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guides. This role offers an exciting opportunity to share your passion and enthusiasm for all things St Andrews; showcasing a remarkable history through golf and town with visitors from around the world. As a Tour Guide, you will be the face of our organisation, delivering engaging and informative tours with well researched facts and anecdotes, providing exceptional customer experiences that leave a lasting impression. Scripts to make your own, Sunderland branded wear and full orientation provided.
Responsibilities
- Lead guided tours around the Old Course and St Andrews, sharing historical facts and interesting anecdotes to captivate visitors
- Ensure all guests feel welcomed and comfortable throughout their experience
- Answer questions from visitors regarding the town’s history, landmarks, and local attractions
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour at all times during tours
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing visitor needs and feedback promptly
- Uphold safety standards during all tours, ensuring guests are aware of any hazards or restrictions
Requirements
- Ideal for retirees with no underlying health issues looking for extra pocket money
- Passion for golf, history, culture, and storytelling with a keen interest for St Andrews’ heritage with ground up training
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus but not essential
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with strong interpersonal skills
- Reliable and punctual with the ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Previous experience in guiding, hospitality, or customer service is desirable but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Guides are never late and tours always run on time, so you will be organised with good time management skills to ensure tours run smoothly and on schedule
Pay: £20.00-£88.00 per hour
