The Role
We’re looking for a Maintenance Engineer who’s excited to bring their skills and ideas to the table. In this role, you’ll provide day‑to‑day engineering support to brewing and production, contributing to safe, efficient operations and high product quality.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Comply with all Health & Safety, food safety, HACCP, GMP and food defence requirements, following site procedures and good engineering practice at all times.
- Carry out planned maintenance activities in line with site schedules, ensuring all work is recorded accurately in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Respond promptly and effectively to equipment breakdowns identified by Engineering or Production, minimising downtime and product risk.
- Maintain a proactive, problem‑solving approach, identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Install, modify or upgrade plant and equipment as directed by Engineering Management, ensuring compliance with food safety, HACCP and engineering standards.
- Complete clear, accurate and documented handovers to support safe and effective shift‑to‑shift operations.
- Self‑prioritise workload when required, balancing reactive, planned and improvement activities.
- Identify, order and manage engineering spares to support plant reliability, efficiency and food safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with Production and Engineering colleagues, both verbally and through the CMMS.
- Liaise with other departments to understand site issues and support cross‑functional problem‑solving.
- Take ownership of engineering housekeeping standards, maintaining a clean, safe and audit‑ready environment.
- Manage and monitor planned maintenance adherence, ensuring completion, effectiveness and accurate documentation.
- Manage and monitor site calibration activities, ensuring instruments remain within tolerance and records are up to date.
- Execute and monitor engineering tasks related to quality, food safety and food defence, ensuring no risk to product integrity during maintenance activities.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Technical Expertise
- Qualified in an electromechanical engineering discipline; completion of a recognised engineering apprenticeship preferred.
- Good working knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Strong understanding of best‑practice maintenance and engineering standards.
- Proven bench‑fitting, fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic systems, including PLCs.
- Experience in the calibration of site instrumentation.
- Previous experience in food and beverage manufacturing is desirable.

- Salary : £48,204,39.
- Hours: 39 hours per week across 3 shifts (6am-2pm,2pm-10pm,10pm-6am).
