We're looking for compassionate and experienced Substance Misuse Nurses to support individuals within prison healthcare settings across a number of establishments throughout the UK. What you'll be doing
As a Substance Misuse Nurse, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality care and treatment to patients with drug and alcohol dependency issues. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll:
- Assess patients and develop individualised care plans
- Support individuals through detoxification and stabilisation programmes
- Administer and monitor medication, including opioid substitution therapies
- Promote recovery, harm reduction and healthy lifestyles
- Work closely with prison healthcare teams and external partners
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure safe, effective care
What we're looking for
We're keen to hear from Registered Nurses who are passionate about patient care and can build positive relationships in a challenging but rewarding environment.
You'll need:
- Current NMC registration
- Experience within substance misuse, addictions, mental health, community, prison or primary care services
- Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
- A compassionate, non-judgemental approach
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
Essential Requirement
Applicants must already hold valid prison security vetting/clearance and be eligible to work within UK prison establishments.
