The Village Bakery is an award-winning artisan wholesale bakery supplying cafés, restaurants, farm shops, delis, hotels and hospitality businesses across Hertfordshire and Essex. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a talented Savoury Baker / Kitchen Production Chef to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys creating high-quality savoury food, takes pride in consistency and presentation, and has the creativity to help develop new products.
Your Role
You’ll be responsible for producing a wide range of savoury products including:
- Handmade sausage rolls
- Fresh sandwiches and filled rolls
- Quiches and savoury tarts
- Buffet platters
- Seasonal savoury specials
- Developing exciting new savoury products and flavours
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a commercial kitchen, bakery or food production environment.
- Has excellent knowledge of food, flavours and ingredient pairings.
- Enjoys developing new products and bringing fresh ideas to the business.
- Works confidently and independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
- Has a strong understanding of food hygiene, HACCP and kitchen safety procedures.
- Is organised, reliable and able to maintain high standards during busy production.
- Takes pride in producing consistently high-quality food.
