Job Title: Self-Employed Delivery Driver (Medication & Confidential Deliveries)
Job Overview
We are seeking reliable, self-employed Delivery Drivers to join our pharmacy team. This role involves collecting and delivering medication and confidential patient items from our pharmacy to homes, clinics, or care facilities using your own vehicle. As you will be handling sensitive healthcare items and personal data, professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Use your own vehicle to collect and deliver medication from our pharmacy to designated locations.
- Maintain full responsibility for your vehicle, including insurance, petrol, parking tickets, servicing, and any related costs.
- Invoice the company for completed work in accordance with agreed terms.
- Download and use a company-approved smartphone app for delivery scheduling and route optimization. Full training on the app will be provided (own phone required).
- Ensure safe handling of medication and packages during transport.
- Maintain open communication with pharmacy staff and recipients regarding delivery updates or issues.
- Accurately record deliveries, including proof of delivery through the app.
- Follow all traffic laws and pharmacy delivery protocols.
- Handle all patient and prescription information with strict confidentiality.
- Sign confidentiality and data protection agreements as part of onboarding.
- (criminal background) check required.
Requirements
- Full, valid UK driving licence.
- Own reliable vehicle with appropriate business-use insurance.
- Smartphone capable of running the delivery app.
- Ability to invoice the company as a self-employed contractor.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Physically able to carry items up to 15 kg.
- Prior experience in delivery, healthcare logistics, or similar roles is beneficial but not essential.
- Valid DBS certificate
Compensation
This is a self-employed role. Drivers are paid an hourly rate or per delivert destination if required, with payment made upon receipt of invoice within first 7 days of following month. Details will be discussed during the application process.
