Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, providing excellent patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the pharmacy. Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in medication administration is highly desirable. The Pharmacy Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with medication management and delivering compassionate patient support.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and label medication containers in accordance with legal and safety standards
- Support patients by answering queries regarding medication usage and storage
- Maintain organised records of medication stock levels and expiry dates
- Support with inventory management, including stock replenishment and order processing
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, safe, and compliant with health regulations
- Support patient care activities, including basic medication administration under supervision where applicable
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and addressing their needs courteously
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or in medication administration is preferred
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of pharmacy procedures, health & safety standards, and confidentiality regulations is advantageous
- A recognised qualification or training in pharmacy assistance or related field is desirable but not essential
Our starting pay is at 12.71£ which assumes no pharmacy experience.
