We are seeking an experienced and highly self-motivated Accounts Assistant, who has strong analytical skills, and demonstrates excellent attention to detail and accuracy, and who enjoys working with data/figures. The person will be responsible for providing reliable and robust Financial support to the Financial Controller, with an emphasis on banking and cash postings to the sales ledger in multiple currencies from several sources e.g. credit cards, website receipts, as well as BACS receipts, and reconciliation of all bank accounts daily.
Key Features of the role:
- Posting cash receipts (GBP, USD, Euro, and CAD) to the Sales ledger daily
- Reconciliation of all GBP and foreign currency bank accounts on a daily basis
- Reconciliation of Supplier accounts to their statements
- Reconciliation of the Company credit cards
- Posting of Supplier invoices to Purchase ledger
- Raising payments of supplier invoices through on-line banking and sending out remittance advices.
- Assist Financial Controller with Credit control
- Organise own workload, meeting deadlines and demonstrating good sense of prioritising
- Enjoy working with large amounts of numerical data daily.
- Skills/Experience/Traits Required:
- Previous bookkeeping experience; preferably within an established SME
- Highly versed with experience within Reconciliation's and accounts administration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
- The ability to remain calm and professional at all times, especially during busy periods
- A stable career history, with longevity in previous positions
- Strong attention to detail and a sense of pride in maintaining high standards
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and confident working with computers, particularly MS Excel
- AAT Level 1/2 qualification and the desire to become AAT qualified would be highly desirable
- Experience of working with multi-currencies (Sterling, USD, CAD and Euro)
- Package: £14.00 to £15.50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. The role involves working 25 hours in total per week and is office based. Exact working hours are flexible. During very busy periods there may be a requirement to work additional hours. Holiday entitlement is 21 days (pro-rata) + Bank Holidays, Pension Scheme, Private Health Scheme, discounts on own products, free car parking.
