Location: Church Knowle Rehoming & Visitor Centre, Wareham, Dorset
Main Purpose of the Role: If you would like to be part of a team who is passionate about giving the best possible care to hundreds of rescue animals each year, then we have an exciting opportunity for you!
At our Church Knowle centre, near Wareham in Dorset, we take in cats, small companion animals, equines and farm animals who need to find their happy new homes, and we provide all the care & support they may need to prepare them to start their next chapter.
This role would particularly suit you if you relish being active outdoors, throughout the year, spending time helping deserving animals by offering daily care, training, enrichment & rehabilitation.
Our team is proud to provide great supporter care, and a part of this role includes sensitively helping those needing to rehome their animals, and making wonderful matches with potential new families. Essential Enthusiasm & passion for delivering great care and welfare to rescue animals (mainly equines) Desire to work well within a friendly & inclusive team Happy to share lots of time outdoors with four-legged friends, come rain or shine Keen to support animal rehoming processes and deliver high standards of supporter services
Confident when promoting the work, aims, mission & values of the charity. Recognition of the importance of representing the charity in a professional & caring manner Enjoy carrying out tasks that are physically demanding
A full, current, manual driving licence Desirable. An animal (equine) care qualification and / or experience of working (or volunteering) with animals. Experience within a customer services role and Knowledge of IT packages (Microsoft and supporter databases)
Experience of working or volunteering at a visitor attraction Previously or currently working or volunteering within the charity sector.

Job Details:
As an Animal Rescue Carer (Equine), you will work with us for 37.5 hours per week, across 5 days out of 7, with weekend working forming part of this role, in return for a salary of £24,784.50 per annum.
Due to the nature of the work and our resources, it may at times be necessary to exceed these hours when we have an increased workload.
