Special needs teaching assistant -ASAP start - could lead to permanent work for the right candidate!
Now Education is currently recruiting for Teaching Assistants to work within a school based in Newport, supporting pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), ASD (Autism) and SEBD (Social Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties). All children and young adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities, ASD and SEBD will need high levels of support from Teachers and Assistants.
We are looking for dynamic and adaptable teaching assistants to work in partnership with the Teacher to support the needs of pupils in a classroom. You will be responsible for classroom management and engaging with pupils to carry out classroom activities.
Job Responsibilities;
- Support pupils in a group and 1:1 basis.
- You will need to manage classroom behaviour.
- Encourage and support pupils learning and development.
- Helping the teacher prepare for lessons and plan activities.
- Personal care (Feeding, washing & dressing).

Job Requirements;
- Experience in working with special needs and disabilities.
- Available 1 – 5 days per week. Monday to Friday (8.30am - 3.30pm), we have both full and part-time roles available.
- Have a passion for helping young children and young adults.
- Manual Handling (desired but not essential).
- Term time only
