Applications are invited for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow (Registrar grade equivalent) in General Surgery at Whittington Health NHS Trust. You will join a busy surgical unit in an Integrated Care Organisation in North-Central London. We serve a resident population across five London boroughs and provide a wide range of elective / emergency surgical procedures. The successful candidate will join our team of 5 Specialty Trainees (London North Central/East Thames Deanery), 5 Senior Resident Trust Grade surgeons and 2 Research Fellows/Residents. We will offer the successful candidates :
- Open and Laparoscopic operating in both emergency and elective settings.
- Involvement in outpatient clinics (current Residents undertake 3 per week).
- Opportunities to engage in training of junior staff and medical students.
- Managerial training including clinical governance and audit/QIP projects.
- Regular review of progress and careers advice with allocated supervisors.
- Support for audit and research projects.
You will be required to demonstrate the following:
- To be highly motivated and flexible towards ensuring patient focused care
- A minimum of three years’ experience as at ‘SHO’ level in General Surgery
- Full registration with the General Medical Council
- Experience of working in the NHS
- Experience of working at a ‘Registrar’ level is desirable as is completion of MRCS.
