Duties:
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials according to specifications
- Assemble and install joinery components such as doors, windows, cabinets, and furniture
- Fit and install joinery components to roofs, walls, and floors
- Operate hand tools and power tools to fabricate joinery components
- Install hardware such as hinges, locks, and handles
- Apply finishes such as paint or varnish to joinery components
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a joiner or carpenter is preferred
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of different joinery techniques and materials
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
- Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems is a plus
