Contract Opportunity: Employment & Enterprise Coach
Are you a well-connected community leader, coach, or employment specialist in the Aston area? Do you have a passion for helping people unlock their potential, whether that’s stepping into a stable job or launching their own business?
We are delivering an impactful initiative dedicated to supporting young 16-24 year old Aston residents into sustainable employment and self-employment. We are looking for a dedicated delivery partner to help us turn referrals into life-changing success stories.
The Opportunity
This is a flexible, 26-week freelance contract designed for someone with deep roots in the Aston community. You will manage your own schedule, delivering structured coaching sessions (in-person or virtually) at safe, local hubs like the Lighthouse Centre, local libraries, or coffee shops.
Your goal will be to deliver 15 successful outcomes over the course of the contract:
· 10 Direct to Employment Outcomes: Coaching individuals, matching them with local employers, and providing light-touch in-work mentoring to help them sustain employment for 6 months. (You will have massive leverage here via a heavily subsidised wage structure for employers).
· 5 Enterprise Self-Employment Outcomes: Guiding aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their businesses, supporting them through to their UTR issuance, and helping them access startup grants of up to £5,000.
What You’ll Be Doing
· Coaching & Mentoring: Running regular, high-impact, hour-long sessions with service users to build accountability, confidence, and career readiness.
· Local Outreach: Utilising your existing connections with organisations, schools, and colleges in Aston to proactively identify new referrals.
· Employer & Partner Collaboration: Working alongside our existing network of employers and the Aston Villa Foundation to place candidates into the right roles.
· Pipeline Management: Keeping service users engaged, managing natural program drop-offs proactively, and utilizing established protocols to keep the program on track.

· Expert Backup: You will have regular progress check-ins and direct access to our two internal employment specialists, for expert guidance.
· Flexible Spaces: While local Aston venues are preferred, you will also have access to the AVision meeting facilities in Digbeth.
About You
· You have a proven track record in employment coaching, recruitment, community outreach, or business mentoring.
· You are familiar with the Aston catchment area with established organisational or educational connections.
· You excel at building trust quickly, creating accountability, and driving people toward concrete milestones.
· You are highly organised and capable of managing your own weekly time allocation effectively.
Pay: £180.00-£200.00 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Birmingham
