Justteachers are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Rotherham from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis. This rewarding role will involve supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
- Support students with communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs.
- Implement learning and behaviour support plans as directed by teaching staff.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback where required.
- Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Support students with personal care needs, ensuring dignity, respect and wellbeing are maintained at all times.
Pre-requisites:
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach to supporting learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
- Comfortable providing personal care support where required.
- Relevant TA qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and helping them succeed.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or the willingness to apply for one.
- Two school-based references.

Pay: £95.00-£105.00 per day
