Operations Coordinator
Location: Wakefield
Hybrid working: One day per week from home
Who We Are
SODA Group is an award-winning interior design and fit-out company based in Wakefield. We create brilliant commercial spaces, but we know that our success starts with the people behind them.
We’re hugely proud of our culture and genuinely care about making SODA a great place to work. Finding someone with the right attitude and personality is just as important to us as finding someone with the right experience. We’re looking for somebody who will get stuck in, support the team and enjoy being part of the journey as we continue to grow.
The Role
We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic Operations Coordinator to help keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
No two days will be exactly the same. One minute you could be arranging a vehicle’s MOT, the next you might be raising a purchase order, logging an invoice or pulling together a health and safety pack for a new site.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Operations, helping wherever you’re needed and making sure the important details are taken care of. This role would be perfect for someone who loves a list, enjoys bringing order to a busy environment and isn’t afraid to jump in and get things done.
What you’ll be doing
- Booking MOTs, services, repairs and maintenance for our company vehicles.
- Keeping vehicle records and renewal dates up to date.
- Raising purchase orders and keeping track of them from start to finish.
- Following up on outstanding purchase orders when needed.
- Supporting the accounts team by logging supplier invoices.
- Checking that invoices are matched with the correct purchase orders.
- Pulling together site health and safety packs using information provided by the wider team.
- Making sure site packs are complete and ready before projects begin.
- Keeping electronic and paper records organised and easy to find.
- Supporting the operations team with their day-to-day activities.
- Helping to keep things moving during busy periods and providing cover when colleagues are on annual leave or absent.
- Getting involved with ad hoc tasks and being ready to lend a hand wherever it’s needed.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is organised, approachable and happy to get stuck in. You’ll enjoy variety, be able to spin a few plates at once and take pride in getting the details right.
You don’t need to have done every part of the role before. For us, finding the right person is incredibly important. If you’re proactive, willing to learn and someone your colleagues can rely on, we’d love to hear from you.
Ideally, you’ll have:
- Experience in an administrative, coordination or operational support role.
- Great organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to manage changing priorities without losing track of the important things.
- A positive, flexible and can-do attitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
- The ability to work independently while still being a brilliant team player.
- Experience with purchase orders, invoices, fleet administration or construction documentation would be helpful, but it isn’t essential.
The Good Stuff
Our people are at the heart of SODA, so we make time to celebrate achievements, have fun together and enjoy the journey—not just the end result.
You’ll receive:
- 23 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays.
- A company Christmas shutdown.
- One day per week working from home.
- Quarterly team building.
- An annual company conference and team-building day. Previous adventures have included The Crystal Maze, quad biking and off-road driving, so expect something more exciting than sitting in a conference room all day!
- The opportunity to be part of a growing, award-winning business.
- A friendly and supportive team where your ideas and contribution are genuinely valued.
If you’re looking for a varied role with a great team, plenty to get involved in and a company that genuinely puts its people first, we’d love to hear from you.
