Apodi is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Oncology Specialist Nurse to deliver a dedicated Cabozantinib Toxicity Support Programme, supporting patients receiving Cabozantinib treatment through virtual nurse-led clinics and collaborative working with NHS Trust multidisciplinary teams and a global pharmaceutical company.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced oncology professional to utilise their specialist knowledge in systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT), patient education and toxicity management while working autonomously within a dynamic and innovative healthcare environment.
About the Role
As a Cabozantinib Oncology Specialist Nurse, you will provide expert clinical support to patients prescribed Cabozantinib, delivering virtual toxicity assessments, patient education and ongoing treatment monitoring in accordance with Trust protocols and the Summary of Product Characteristics (SmPC).
Working closely with NHS clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, you will help coordinate patient care, monitor treatment-related toxicities and ensure patients receive timely support throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nurse-led virtual clinics and telephone consultations for patients receiving Cabozantinib.
- Conduct patient toxicity assessments and clinical reviews in line with programme protocols.
- Provide comprehensive patient education, counselling and adherence support.
- Respond to inbound patient enquiries and deliver scheduled outbound support calls.
- Coordinate clinical investigations including blood monitoring, ECGs and urine testing in accordance with Trust requirements.
- Interpret blood results and collaborate with Trust MDTs regarding patient care decisions.
- Report adverse events promptly in accordance with SOPs and pharmacovigilance requirements.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring high standards of care, dignity, respect and confidentiality.
- Support NHS Trusts with the development and implementation of safe and effective treatment protocols.
- Deliver educational sessions and specialist advice to healthcare professionals and MDTs.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and records in accordance with GDPR, Trust and organisational policies.

About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate nurse with a strong oncology background and a passion for improving patient experiences and outcomes.
Essential Requirements
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
- Minimum Band 6 equivalent oncology nursing experience.
- Extensive experience caring for oncology patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
- UKONS SACT Accreditation (or equivalent recognised accreditation).
- Experience running nurse-led clinics.
- Experience conducting toxicity assessments via telephone or virtual consultations.
- Strong understanding of oncology treatment pathways and toxicity management.
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel to NHS Trusts when required.
Desirable
- Pharmaceutical industry nursing experience.
- Proven experience supporting patients with Renal Cell Cancer (RCC).
- Experience delivering patient support programmes.
- Knowledge of NHS service delivery, targets and priorities.
- Experience working across multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
