JGP Property Maintenance is looking for an experienced and reliable Gas Safe Engineer/Plumber to join our established in-house maintenance team.
You will work alongside our existing gas engineers, electricians and multi-skilled tradespeople, delivering repairs, maintenance and improvement works across residential and commercial properties.
A key part of the role will involve completing gas safety inspections and certificates, diagnosing faults and carrying out any necessary remedial work. The position also includes general plumbing, boiler and heating repairs, planned installations and bathroom fitting.
Current Gas Safe registration and a full UK driving licence are essential. Oil and LPG qualifications or experience would be a significant advantage.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out gas safety inspections and complete all associated certification accurately.
- Diagnose faults affecting boilers, heating systems, gas appliances and plumbing installations.
- Identify and undertake remedial work arising from gas safety inspections.
- Install, service, maintain and repair boilers, gas appliances, heating systems and associated pipework.
- Undertake general plumbing repairs, alterations and new installations.
- Install complete bathrooms, including sanitaryware, showers, radiators and associated plumbing, to a high standard.
- Work collaboratively with our in-house gas engineers, electricians and multi-skilled tradespeople.
- Work across occupied and vacant residential and commercial properties.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, diagnoses, work completed and materials used.
- Identify additional work required and communicate this clearly to the office and customer.
- Ensure all work complies with current regulations, manufacturers’ instructions and health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and professional working environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service when working in clients’ homes and premises.
Essential requirements
- Current Gas Safe registration with appropriate domestic gas qualifications.
- Proven experience completing gas safety inspections, certification and associated remedial work.
- Strong diagnostic, fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in boiler repairs, heating systems and general plumbing.
- Ability to fit bathrooms and sanitaryware to a good standard.
- Good knowledge of current gas, plumbing and health and safety requirements.
- High standard of workmanship with close attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-trade team.
- Professional and courteous approach to customers.
- Ability to organise workloads and complete jobs efficiently.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable qualifications and experience
- LPG qualifications and experience.
- OFTEC registration or experience with oil-fired heating systems.
- Commercial gas or plumbing experience.
- Relevant plumbing, heating or mechanical qualifications.
- Experience undertaking associated finishing or minor building work.

Pay: £39,000.00-£41,000.00 per year
