Opened by Shelly and Adam in 2019, Rock Retro is an independent vintage clothing store on Guildhall Street Lincoln. Alongside our store, we regularly host pop up events in Lincoln and around the UK.
We are looking for an organised, hardworking, enthusiastic store assistant manager to join our small team and cover maternity/paternity leave for a minimum of 1 year, with the potential to continue on further.
As a small independent business we need someone who is comfortable taking initiative, caring for the shop and finding useful things to do during quieter periods.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Working on the till/serving customers
- Working on the changing rooms
- Following stock prep procedures including steaming and tagging items
- Analysing stock changes
- Keeping up with current trends
- Posting on our social media
- Maintaining shop floor standards
- Feeding back customer stock requests to the management team
- Being flexible to cover shifts and work extra hours as necessary
- Following loss prevention procedures
- Ensuring that the store is clean, safe and presentable for customers
Skills
- Organised with good time management
- Warm, confident and upbeat when talking to customers
- Good initiative to carry out tasks without being asked
- Knowledge and interest in vintage clothing and current trends
- Experience in cash handling
- Excellent communication skills
- Confident to work alone whilst contributing to a small team
Requirements:
- Knowledge of vintage clothing
- Transferable managements skills (no previous management experience required)
- Preferably previous experience of working in a small business
This is a temporary four day position for a minimum of 1 year (five days for 1 month).
Set days to be decided. Applicants must be able to work 5 set days per week , including weekends.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
