Job Title: Onsite Services Team Leader - Central West
Salary: The starting salary is £40,519, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.
The salary is broken down as £37,510 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £40,141. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location: Onsite across multiple locations within the Central West BCU, including New Scotland Yard (NSY), Hammersmith, and Charing Cross., as well as other locations within the BCU as required. Regular travel between sites is an essential requirement of the role.
Working Hours: Operational support is provided between 07:00 and 17:00, working hours will be scheduled within this timeframe
About the role:
This role sits within the team responsible for delivering local support services to frontline policing. In line with the aims of A New Met for London, the role contributes to supporting the needs of the communities we serve and delivering against the priorities of Londoners.
As an Onsite Services Team Leader, you will lead one of our service portfolios (Administration, Logistics or CES), ensuring the delivery of high-quality services while driving operational effectiveness and continuous improvement. You will act as a key point of contact, working collaboratively with Police Constables, Sergeants and Inspectors to ensure services meet operational requirements. While assigned to a specific portfolio, you will also be expected to provide support and cover across other service areas when required and undertake operational team member duties as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day line management for team members, including performance management, one-to-one meetings, attendance management, onboarding and offboarding activities, and supporting employee development. Travel across the allocated BCU area will be required.
Lead and coordinate the daily operation of the assigned service portfolio, conducting regular team meetings to communicate priorities, allocate tasks and monitor service delivery.
Support and empower team members to develop their service knowledge, confidence and communication skills, promoting high levels of performance and customer service.
Attend and participate in all relevant training, meetings and events. Travel across London may be required.
Contribute positively to organisational change initiatives and support the delivery of cultural transformation programmes.
Foster and maintain a positive, inclusive and supportive working environment that promotes engagement, wellbeing and teamwork.
Demonstrate a solution-focused approach to problem-solving, supporting the effective resolution of operational issues and workplace conflicts.
Analyse and utilise operational data to support informed decision-making, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular performance updates to the Service Delivery Manager.
Take ownership of the assigned service portfolio, identifying opportunities to improve service delivery, increase efficiency and achieve cost savings.
Manage and monitor day-to-day health and safety risks, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures across all workspaces.
The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive. The postholder may be required to undertake additional duties and support other service areas across the Operational Support Services portfolio, as reasonably required.
