Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fencer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining fencing structures across various sites. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in carpentry, masonry, or related trades to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. A strong focus on safety, precision, and craftsmanship is essential to ensure high-quality results and customer satisfaction.
Duties
- Measure and mark fencing layouts according to project specifications
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as saws, drills, and post drivers to install fencing panels and posts
- Erect different types of fencing including close board, concrete slotted and ranch style.
- Ensure fencing is level, secure, and compliant with safety standards
- Assist with site preparation including ground clearance and foundation work where necessary
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on existing fencing structures
- Follow health and safety protocols at all times during installation and maintenance activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Fencing
- Familiarity with setting out from a site plan strong advantage but not essential
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret project plans accurately and advantage.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks including lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Relevant certifications or training in construction trades are desirable but not essential
- A valid and clean driver’s licence is a must
- Must have a valid CSCS card or willingness to gain one ASAP
