Due to continued growth, we are now looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Project Manager / Engineer to join our expanding team.
Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven engineering professional to manage complex fabrication and heavy engineering projects from enquiry through to delivery.
You will play a key role in coordinating production, managing customer relationships, ensuring technical compliance, and delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.
Responsibilities
- Manage fabrication and heavy engineering projects from start to completion
- Liaise directly with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Coordinate production schedules and monitor project progress
- Ensure compliance with ASME, BS EN, ISO 9001 and welding standards
- Manage budgets, quotations, variations, and project documentation
- Attend customer meetings and site visits where required
- Ensure high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in Project Management or Engineering within:
- Steel fabrication
- Heavy engineering
- Coded welding environments
- Strong technical understanding of fabrication and welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Commercial awareness and customer-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable:
- Experience within Rail, Nuclear, Defence, Marine, Aerospace, or Oil & Gas sectors
- Excellent knowledge of all welding techniques
- CAD qualifications and experience are preferable but not essential for this role, training will be provided where necessary
