We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Bar & Restaurant Supervisor to join the team at our busy, large seafront pub.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced venue serving locals, holidaymakers and large groups throughout the year. You will support the management team, lead shifts and help deliver excellent food, drinks and customer service - even during our busiest summer days.
The role
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and motivating the front-of-house team during busy shifts.
- Ensuring customers receive friendly, efficient and professional service.
- Supervising both bar and restaurant operations.
- Allocating duties, organising breaks and maintaining good communication across the team.
- Handling customer queries and resolving issues calmly and confidently.
- Supporting staff training, development and performance.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety.
- Managing cash, completing opening and closing procedures, and assisting with stock control.
- Ensuring licensing, health and safety, and company procedures are followed.
- Working closely with the kitchen and management teams to keep service running smoothly.
About you
You will ideally have:
- Previous supervisory experience in a busy pub, bar, restaurant or hospitality venue.
- Strong leadership skills and the confidence to take charge of a shift.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- The ability to remain organised and positive under pressure.
- Experience handling cash and following opening and closing procedures.
- A good understanding of licensing, food hygiene, and health and safety requirements.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
- A genuine interest in hospitality and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
