Overview
Applications are invited for the position of Club Steward, responsible for the overall management and day-to-day operation of the club, including the bar, kitchen, and cellar.
This position presents an excellent opportunity for a suitably experienced individual, or ideally a couple, to either commute or reside on-site and manage a well-established, community-focused club.
The successful applicant will be expected to maintain high standards of service for members and guests, ensure the effective running of club facilities, support events and functions, and work closely with the Management Committee.
Responsibilities
- · Oversee and manage all aspects of the club’s daily operations.
- · Provide a high standard of customer service to members and guests.
- · Liaise regularly and effectively with the Management Committee.
- · Ensure the club premises are maintained to a clean, safe, and presentable standard.
- · Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- · Assist with the planning, organisation, and delivery of club events and special occasions.
- · Manage stock control for the bar, kitchen, and cellar.
- · Ensure the efficient operation of bar and food service areas.
- · Prepare and serve food as required.
- Develop and maintain suitable menus for members and special events.
Qualifications
- · Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within a club, pub, or hospitality environment.
- · Strong leadership and staff management skills.
- · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- · Ability to plan, prepare, and serve food suitable for the club’s membership.
- · Experience in purchasing, stock control, and stock management.
- · Cellar management experience.
- · A sound understanding of health and safety requirements.
- · Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
- · Bar and/or kitchen management experience would be advantageous.
- · References will be required.
