APPRENTICE – LABORATORY & REGULATORY ASSISTANT
Location: Liverpool L33
Salary: In line with current Government Apprentice rates, dependent on age.
This role is for a fixed term contract for the duration of the programme with a permanent role available upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.

We are a global masterbatch manufacturer and inventor of high-performance black and colour masterbatch solutions based in Liverpool. We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Laboratory & Regulatory Assistant to join our Technical Department.
This role will be split into two supporting functions. Firstly, supporting the Laboratory Technicians in their primary duties, including setting up laboratory equipment, analysing, monitoring and reporting on testing when required, and carrying out administrative tasks. Secondly, supporting the Regulatory Manager with administrative activities, maintaining regulatory information, assisting with general enquiries, and gaining an in-depth understanding of regulatory requirements. Opportunities will also be available to spend time in other departments to learn more about the business.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Study towards a qualification in Chemistry.
- Assist in the day-to-day requirements of the analytical laboratory under Laboratory Technician supervision.
- Learn various analytical techniques.
- Maintain laboratory procedures and Health and Safety systems.
- Support the Regulatory Manager in maintaining regulatory information.
- Develop awareness and understanding of chemical legislation.
- Review and liaise with suppliers to fill gaps and query discrepancies in regulatory information.
- Receive training in SDS authoring.
- Maintain the register and storage of customer specifications.
- Follow the appropriate apprenticeship standards set out in the detailed college standards.
Qualifications
- Secondary education qualifications including Maths, English and a Science discipline (in particular Chemistry).
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good communication and computer literacy skills are essential.
